GEARIN, John J., Of Arlington, formerly of Boston. August 22, 2014 on his 90th birthday. Beloved husband of 55 years to Joan (O’Sullivan) of Arlington. Loving father of Mary Ellen Gearin and Joan L. Gearin of Arlington. Dear brother of William J. Gearin and his wife Anne of Merrimack, NH, and the late Catherine Welch and Mary Bilodeau. Also survived by many nieces, nephews, and friends. Graduate of B.C. High and Boston College. Retired teacher, Boston Public Schools. Past President of Boston Teachers Union. Funeral from the Keefe Funeral Home, 5 Chestnut St., (Rt.60, adjacent to St. Agnes Church) ARLINGTON, on Tuesday at 10 am. Funeral mass will be held at Saint Eulalia’s Church, Winchester, at 11 am. Relatives and friends invited. Visitation from the funeral home on Monday 4-8 pm. Burial in Saint Joseph’s Cemetery, West Roxbury. John was a US Army Signal Corps veteran, World War II, Europe. In lieu of flowers donations may be made in John’s memory to American Cancer Society, 30 Speen Street, Framingham, MA 01701; Myasthenia Gravis Foundation, 355 Lexington Avenue, 15th Floor, New York, NY 10017 or Friends of the Robbins Library, 700 Mass Avenue, Arlington MA 02476.
