JONES, Valentine Augustus, "A much-loved husband, father, and grandfather.” He was 91, fell asleep in death peacefully at his home on October 29, 2014 with his wife and family present. Born November 5, 1922 in his home country of Jamaica, he immigrated to the United States at the age of 29 where he met his wife, Eulene Browne. The two married and settled in Cambridge, MA, where they raised two sons Vernon and Vincent, as well as their daughter, Denise. For the next forty years, Valentine worked for Orion as a machinist until his retirement at age 69. Post-Retirement he devoted much of his time to evangelizing work as a Jehovah's Witness in the Cambridge, MA congregation. Listening to Reggae Music, enjoying authentic West Indian cuisine, reading the Bible daily, and attending Christian meetings at the Kingdom Hall were among the many things Valentine enjoyed. He is survived by his wife, three children, and grandchildren Erica Jones, Jasmine Jones, and Jahkari Jones-Griffiths. The family will receive friends and visitors at Keefe Funeral Home on 2175 Massachusetts Avenue in Cambridge, MA on Saturday, November 1, 2014 from 10 AM TO 12 Noon. A memorial service at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses on Beech Street in Cambridge will follow immediately thereafter." Funeral Home parking available at Pemberton Garden Center.
