LTC John Motley, USAR, RET

Dear Maureen, Tara, and the whole Brennan Family, I had the distinct honor to serve with LTC Brennan in the last few years of his military career with the 10th Special Forces Group, Ft. Devens, MA from 1984-1986. I didn't realize it at the time as a brand new Second Lieutenant, but LTC Brennan made a lasting impression on me that served me well over the next 27 years of my career. He was a true Officer and Gentleman who treated me with respect (very unusual for a 2LT to get any respect) and I sincerely appreciated it. Throughout my career, I would often reference back to LTC Brennan when mentoring my junior officers and NCO's to encourage them to treat all their soldiers with respect, no matter their rank. I have fond memories of his retirement ceremony on the USS Constitution on Sept. 30, 1986 in Boston. Please accept my sincerest condolences on your loss and my apology for the late response, as I just learned of his passing today. De Oppresso Liber!
