The Memorial Candle Program has been designed to help offset the costs associated with the hosting this Tribute Website in perpetuity. Through the lighting of a memorial candle, your thoughtful gesture will be recorded in the Book of Memories and the proceeds will go directly towards helping ensure that the family and friends of Francis X. Brennan can continue to memorialize, re-visit, interact with each other and enhance this tribute for future generations.

Thank you.

U.S.Army Special Forces

I first met  Lt. Colonel Brennan in the winter of 1976.He than a Major, was commanding A Company,1st Battalion,10th Special Forces in Bad Toelz,Germany.I had just been transfered to Bad Toelz, from Ft. Bragg,NC.I had just graduated from Special Forces Officers class as the Honor graduate, and had my choice of any world wide assignment of my desire. Bad Toelz had always been a desire of mine. After approximately 3 months after arriving to Bad Toelz I met and spoke in depth with LTC Brennan my desires of techniques I learned in Special Forces school and wanted to apply those ideas into my training philosophy towards Special Forces A teams. He was very enthusiastic about my concepts and wanted very much for me to serve in his command. However ,the higher Command had different ideas for me to accomplish. In the fall of 1976 our Battalion had a critical task to perform, and Major Brennan was able to get me reassigned to his Company for this critical operation. He gave me command of SFODA-01 and he sent me off into the heat of the operation. My unit and his entire company received an abundance of awards and commendations because of the outcome of the Operation. It is ONLY because of his passion for exellence, training techniques, soldier concerns, and dedication to duty, were we able to accomplish so very much. I owe LTC Brennan, for the excellent Special Forces Officer he made me.Always providing that superb mentorship and guidance throughout my career in the US Army.Later we were able to serve together again at Ft. Carson,CO when he was the Commander of 1st Batallion 11th Infantry,4th Infantry Division. We , those he served with him, will always HONOR him,and hold him close to our HEARTS.....For he is the ULTIMATE WARRIOR........Auf Wiedersehen my friend
