Obituary for Henry Chin Park

Henry Chin  Park
Henry Chin Park, 92 years old, of Cape Cod and formerly of Lexington, MA. Died peacefully at his Home on Monday April 27, 2015. Born in Hong Kong, China on Sept. 1st ,1922 to the late Don and Ng Shee Chin Park. He is survived by his beloved wife, Ute, of 55 years. Devoted father of their 3 children: Karen Chin Park Imura and her husband Paul, Kirsten Chin Park Macina and her husband Chris, and Erik Chin Park and his wife Christelle. Also survived by 7 loving Grandchildren, George and Scott Imura, Nicholas and Alessandra Macina and Sophia, Tristan, and Lorelei Chin Park. Henry was one of three sons, including the late David Chin Park, and is survived by his older brother, Edward Chin Park and wife Iris. Henry pursued the American Dream and moved to the U.S. after being schooled at the Diocesan Boys' School in Hong Kong. He graduated from Tufts Univ. with a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering (in 3 yrs.) and from Boston College with a M.A. in Economics. Henry was one of the well-respected mechanical engineers who helped in design, testing, and readying of the many U.S. Liberty Ships and Tank Landing Craft which helped the war effort for our soldiers and sailors in WWll. Henry enjoyed traveling with his family throughout the U.S. and Europe. He had a special fondness for Austria, where he met his wife, Ute. Henry was always a strong and fair man, as he lived the American dream by attaining higher education, working hard, and taking care of his family so that they could continue his legacy. He was well respected in Boston Chinatown's Asian Community. He was also a long-term member of the Finlandia Foundation of Boston. Henry will be missed by all who knew him including the expanded family of nieces, nephews, cousins, and dear family friends. A Wake will be held at Keefe Funeral Home, 5 Chestnut Street, Arlington, MA 02474 this Sunday, May 3rd from 4:30 – 6:30 pm. A Church service will be held at The Hancock Church of Christ, Congregational, 1912 Massachusetts Avenue, Lexington, MA 02421, on Monday, May 4th at 11:30 am followed by burial at Westview Cemetery, 87-99 Pine St, Lexington MA 01730. Luncheon to follow at The Great Wall Restaurant, 309 Great Road, Bedford MA 01730.
