Eileen Mary Murphy (Harrington) passed away peacefully with her family by her side on Sunday July 24, 2016. Eileen was born in Gortnaclohy, Skibbereen, Co. Cork Ireland on August 28, 1940. She was the daughter of the late Andrew and Julia Harrington. Eileen leaves behind her adoring husband, Jeremiah "Dermot" Murphy of 43 years, and their two children, Patricia Murphy Stacy and her husband Todd, and their son, Colm Murphy and his long time girlfriend Emily Menesale. She leaves behind one granddaughter, Fiona Stacy, who brightened Eileen’s day whenever they were together. She is survived by her sister, Kathleen Holland, of Lisbealad, Dunmanway, Co. Cork Ireland. Lastly, She leaves behind many nieces and nephews in Ireland, France, and Australia. She was predeceased by her brother, Cornelius Harrington of Skibbereen. Eileen had the greatest love for her family. She went to daily Mass at St Agnes Church for over 30 thirty years. She retired from MIT Credit Union. She traveled often with her husband and family to Ireland, France, Maine, and Cape Cod. She was actively involved with the Knights and Ladies of St Finbarr Social Club and enjoyed spending weekends watching Gaelic football and hurling at the Irish Cultural Center. Funeral from the Keefe Funeral Home, 5 Chestnut St., (Rt.60, adjacent to St. Agnes Church) ARLINGTON on Saturday at 9 am. Funeral Mass at Saint Agnes Church at 10 am. Relatives and friends invited. Visiting hours Friday 4-8 pm. Burial in Mount Pleasant Cemetery, Arlington. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Saint Agnes’ Church, 30 Medford Street, Arlington, MA 02474.
