WARREN, Charlotte “Lorraine” (Mrozinski)
Charlotte Warren passed away peacefully in her home in Cambridge MA on May 19, 2017 at the age of 97. Before moving to Cambridge three years ago to live with her son, she lived her entire life in the Buffalo NY area. She now joins her husband of 58 years Casimir, and her younger siblings - brother Chester Mrozinski, and sisters Pearl (Dulski), Mildred (Albrecht) and baby Gertrude - in eternal peace. She is survived by son Donald, daughter Rita, nieces and nephews, grand-nieces and grand-nephews, great grand-nieces and great grand-nephews, along with many friends in New York and Massachusetts. She is also survived by many cousins in the United States, Poland and France.
Charlotte touched countless lives during a long lifetime of helping others. During World War II she volunteered as a Red Cross Grey Lady. She loved children and was a foster mother to 24 children from the 50’s to the 70’s. She worked for many years as a school crossing guard in the Kenton School District. After her husband passed away she became active at the Amherst Senior Center as a volunteer and member. As a member of the knitting club, she specialized in crocheting “stoma bibs” for Roswell Park cancer patients.
Memorial donations in Charlotte’s name may be made as follows. In New York, to Catholic Charities of Buffalo NY, or the Amherst NY Senior Center. In Massachusetts, to Good Shepherd Community Care in Newton MA, or Somerville-Cambridge Elder Services in Somerville MA.
Visitation will be held at the Perna, Dengler, Roberts Funeral Home on 1671 Maple Rd., Williamsville NY 14221 on Thursday, June 1 from 5 to 8pm. A funeral Mass will be held at 11:00am on Friday, June 2 at the Church of Christ the King on 30 Lamarck Dr. at Main St., Amherst NY 14226. Burial will follow in St. Stanislaus Cemetery, Cheektowaga NY.
