Obituary for Paul G. Bannon

Paul G. Bannon of South Yarmouth, formerly of Arlington, died at Brigham & Women’s Hospital in Boston on Friday, June 12, 2009. Born in Somerville to the late William and Nora (Horrigan) Bannon on June 6, 1933, he was 76. Paul served in the US Coast Guard and is a veteran of the Korean Conflict. Retired from the printing industry, he enjoyed playing softball in the Cape Cod Old Timers League. Beloved husband of Margaret A. (Gilbert) Bannon, he is also survived by three daughters, Mary Keohane of Milton; Patricia Houghton of Salem, NH; Julie Elwell of Derby, VT; one son, Christopher Bannon of Winchester; one brother, William Bannon of Arlington; one sister, Doris Brandon of Taos, NM; and 11 grandchildren. Besides his parents he was predeceased by a sister, Jeanne Gillis; and a brother, Daniel Bannon. Visiting hours will be held at the Keefe Funeral Home, 5 Chestnut Street, Arlington on Monday, June 15th from 4:00 to 8:00 PM. His funeral Mass will be celebrated in Saint Agnes Church, 24 Medford Street, Arlington on Tuesday, June 16th at 11:00 AM. Services will conclude with burial in Mount Pleasant Cemetery, Arlington.
