Obituary for Georgette M. Boucher (Dion)
Georgette Margaret Boucher, much beloved wife of the late Rosaire J. (Butch) Boucher, was born in Ottawa, Ontario, Canada, on July 20, 1921, to Marianne and Lionel Dion. She died January 25, 2018. She lived in Arlington, Massachusetts.
Geogette graduated from the University of Ottawa in nursing and worked at the Ottawa General Hospital (now part of the Ottawa Hospital).
She married Butch in the Basilica Notre Dame in Ottawa in the early 1940s.They moved to the Boston area in the early 1950s and lived in Arlington the rest of their lives. Butch and Georgette were parishioners at St. Jerome Catholic Church in Arlington.
She worked as a nurse at Harvard and later as an operating room nurse at Mount Auburn Hospital in Cambridge. She once helped deliver a baby who was a princess in Thailand. The grateful parents gave her a lovely Thai statue and Butch made a lamp of it.
When she retired from Mt. Auburn, she worked as a supervisor at a nursing facility in Cambridge. She was nearly 85 when she fully retired. Georgette was loved by her neighbors.
Georgette and Butch enjoyed spending time on Cape Cod and travelling, including to Europe and Japan, which was an especial favorite.
She is predeceased by her husband, her parents Marianne and Lionel Dion, and her brother Roland Dion. She is survived by three nieces: Cecile Morgan of Ottawa, Ontario; Carolle Dion of Henderson, Nevada; and Huguette Game of Wainfleet, Ontario.
Visiting hours will be at Keefe Funeral Home, 5 Chestnut St., Arlington, at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, January 31, 2018. A funeral Mass will follow at 11:30 a.m. at St. Agnes Church, 51 Medford St., Arlington. Interment will be private.

Saying goodbye is not easy, but I know Aunt Georgette is in a better place. She made a profound impact on my life. She was one of a kind, so giving and so thoughtful, always wanting to please everyone. Finally she is reunited with her loving Butch who adored her. Aunt Georgette, you will live forever in our hearts. Rest in peace. Je vous aime.
