Of Arlington, formerly of Cambridge. Passed on March 31, 2018, surrounded by his loving family. Beloved husband of 57 years to Elizabeth (Hancock). Loving father of Lisa Diamandis and her husband Harry of Arlington, and Edward G. MacAskill, Jr. and his wife Jennifer of Millis. Proud 'Pa' of Elizabeth McGaw and her husband Daniel, Victoria Diamandis and her wife Felicia, and Alexandra and Jordan MacAskill. Dear brother of Anna Benedetti of FL, Jane Whitman of Stoneham, Sharon Ryer of FL, Sandra Hesketh of Tewksbury, and the late Irene Jensen, Murdock, Kenneth, Norman, Chester and John MacAskill. Longtime friend of Gail Morgan of Cambridge. Also survived by many loving nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. Proud Retired Cambridge Fire Fighter and former owner of Cambridge Glass and Mirror. Late Air Force Veteran. Visiting Hours will be held at the Keefe Funeral Home, 5 Chestnut St., Rt. 60 (adjacent to St. Agnes Church) ARLINGTON, on Saturday from 10am-12pm. A Prayer Service and Military Honors will immediately follow at 12pm. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited. Interment will be private. In lieu of flowers, donations in Ed’s memory may be made to Edith Nourse Rogers Memorial Veterans Hospital, 200 Springs Road, Bedford, MA 01730, Memo: Rec. Therapy – 9006 Building 4, Activities.
