Meara, Joseph G., of Malden, May 3, 2018. Devoted father of Nicole Meara of NH, Julie Meara Beaulieu and her husband Philip of Lowell. Loving grandfather of Michael and Nathan Meara Peterson. Brother of Patricia Cappello, Richard M. Meara, his wife Betty, all of Malden, Dr. Morgan J. Meara, and his wife Judy of Fall River. Further survived by many loving godchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Funeral from the Keefe Funeral Home, 2175 Massachusetts Ave., Cambridge, Wednesday at 9 AM followed by a funeral mass celebrated in St. John Church, 2254 Massachusetts Ave. Cambridge, at 10 AM. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. Visiting hours Tuesday 4 - 8 PM. Interment will be private. Late US Navy veteran of the Vietnam War and Union 12 Plumber. It has been requested that memorial contribution be made in Joseph’s name to the ALS Association of MA, 685 Canton St. Suite 103, Norwood, MA 02062.
