Obituary for Richard J. Burns

BURNS, Richard J., of Arlington, passed peacefully at his home on January 23, 2022 with his family and his dog ‘Bandit’ by his side. Richard is survived by his daughter Priscilla and her family. He was predeceased by his daughter Lisa, and is survived by her family. Dear brother of Joanne and her family. He will always be remembered as a wonderful father, Grampy, brother, Marine, and dear friend to many. He proudly worked as the Head Custodian for over 30 years at the Wellington School, Town of Belmont. He loved his dogs, old cars, attending car shows, Shopping at flea markets, and most all, he loved retirement. He had a deep love for good chinese food, never turned down a slice of apple pie, and during his retirement he always enjoyed “ nappin’ and snackin’ ’’. He proudly served his country as a United States Marine. He will truly be missed by all who knew him. Visiting Hours will be held in the Keefe Funeral Home, 5 Chestnut Street, ARLINGTON on Thursday from 4-7PM. A Prayer Service and Military Honors will be held at 6:30PM in the funeral home. His burial will be Private. In lieu of flowers, donations in Richard’s memory may be made to: St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis TN, 38105.
