Obituary for Ann M. Egan (Crowley)

Egan, Ann Marie of Arlington passed away on December 20, 2019 at the age of 86.

Ann will be dearly missed by her son Keith Joyce of Nova Scotia , her daughter Cathleen Joyce of Arlington, her grandchildren Keith Joyce of Cambridge and Evelyn and Jaimus Joyce of Nova Scotia.

Ann is also survived by her cousin Jessica Kitonga of Texas who faithfully remembered Ann on every holiday and made it a point to visit whenever she traveled to Massachusetts.

Ann was blessed with good friends. Joy Nikkel in particular was steadfast and continued to visit Ann on a regular basis during the 5 years that Ann was a nursing home resident.

Loyal friends Nan Sickles, Laurie Colaneri, Greg and Nola Anderson and Jean Butler were wonderful about sending Ann cards that she enjoyed receiving and displaying.

Ann was a nurturing soul who loved to take care of children, animals and the elderly . She was truly young at heart and never viewed herself as elderly although she was only a few weeks from her 87th birthday when she died. She enjoyed singing and dancing and encouraged others to do the same.

Ann was an enthusiastic baker who generously shared her creations with friends and neighbors and usually asked them “isn’t it the best you ever tasted?”

Ann was an avid reader who was a frequent library patron and also worked at two different libraries in her lifetime.

Ann had a strong belief in God, was a dedicated congregant and loved to sing in the church choir.
Ann was predeceased by her three former husbands; Thomas Joyce, Bernard Hill and Robert Egan.

A true eternal romantic optimist Ann was forever on the lookout for husband number four.

Ann’s daughter Cathy wants to extend her appreciation to the staff of Winchester Nursing for their good humored care and support during the last 5 years.

Services will be private.
