Obituary for Carol A. Harrison (Heffron)
Carol A. (Heffron) Harrison of Arlington, formerly of Newton, passed away peacefully on January 16, 2023. Beloved wife of Wilfred (Bill) Harrison of Arlington.
Carol was born on May 13, 1946 to the late James and Margaret Heffron of Newton. Sister to Joan M. Forde and her late husband Michael of Mashpee and Jane Sullivan and her late husband Kevin of Arlington. Aunt and Godmother to nephews, nieces and their families of great-nephews and great-nieces.
Carol was a proud graduate of Emmanuel College. She started her career teaching and eventually moved on to a successful career in real estate. Both professions gave her that outlet she craved, which was simply to help whomever she could.
Carol loved her nieces, nephews and great-nieces and great-nephews sharing her time, love and love for learning with them. She loved taking them on educational field trips and they will always remember that extra special time with Carol.
Anyone who knew Carol could count on her remembering every holiday, birthday, anniversary or accomplishment. Carol always sent cards, gifts and flowers to help make sure the person knew that they and the celebration were special.
Carol selflessly helped so many members of her family and friends as a primary caregiver as they aged and needed additional care and support. Carol could always be counted on when needed and she would also share her time with calls or visits just to brighten their days and let them know they were loved.
Carol and Bill were avid Red Sox fans and would enjoy watching every game together. Carol also enjoyed birdwatching and she would eventually share in Bill’s passion for trains as a RailFan. They would often go on excursions together to check out classic rides in the area. They loved day trips to Maine for lunch and the seaside drives.
Carol was a proud Irish Catholic who would regularly attend mass as her health would allow. She was the family historian who kept contact and records of the Heffron family. Above all else, Carol loved to laugh and share time with her family, who will miss her dearly.
Visiting hours will be held at Keefe Funeral Home in Arlington from 9:30-11:00 a.m. on Saturday, January 21, 2023. A funeral mass will be held at St. Agnes Church in Arlington at 11:30 on January 21, 2023. Carol will be laid to rest in eternal peace at Calvary Cemetery in Waltham.
