Catherine “Kay” Lennon (Taber), formerly of Arlington, MA, passed away on Feb. 25, 2022, at the age of 100. Kay was born to William and Lena in Cambridge, MA, on Oct. 26, 1921. She graduated from Cambridge High and Latin where she was a proud member of the dramatic club. She went on to earn her degree in Education from Framingham State Teachers College. She put her degree to good use teaching in Newton, MA, for 40 years – where she was loved by her students. While teaching by day, she earned her Master’s degree in education at Boston University by night – an accomplishment of which she was most proud. The birth of her only child, Lisa, was the highlight of her life. From day one, Kay and Lisa were the best of friends with an inseparable bond. The circle of love was complete when her two beloved grandsons, Cameron and Justin were born. Kay was a fan of both the Boston Bruins and Red Sox. She enjoyed reading, traveling, and daily rides to the beach after moving to York, ME, oftentimes accompanied by stops for ice cream. She leaves her daughter, grandsons, many nieces and nephews, and special “cousins.” She was predeceased by her parents, her two beloved sisters Norma and Peg, and her son-in-law Rick. Relatives and friends are invited to her funeral mass on Friday March 4th, 2022 in Saint Agnes' Church at 12 pm. Burial will follow in Mount Pleasant Cemetery, Arlington.
