Obituary for Charlotte E. Flu - Lowe (Flu)
Charlotte Elizabeth Flu Lowe, 87, of Cambridge, passed away on July 12th, 2022, at her home in Cambridge, Massachusetts.
Charlotte Elizabeth Lowe, daughter of the late Ewing Alexander Sr and Charlotte Lavinia Samuels was born June 30, 1935, in Boston, Massachusetts. She attended public school in Cambridge, Massachusetts and was a graduate of Cambridge High and Latin High School. Over the years, Charlotte utilized her strengths working for well-known institutions such as Raytheon, Turner Construction and Harvard University. The job she loved most was as a dispatcher for the Harvard University Police department. She retired from Harvard and remained in touch with many of the friends she made while working there.
Charlotte was known within her family as “Nana” and throughout the Cambridge community as “Ma Lowe.” She was revered as a caring mother and loyal friend. Charlotte was the family member and friend you could count on to attend social functions, take a road trip, and to host celebrations and family events. She loved caring for children, crocheting, knitting and sewing, and it was through singing and cooking that she expressed her love.
Her beautiful life will forever be cherished in the lives of her four children: Deborah Elizabeth Lowe, David Leon Lowe, Andre Derek Lowe and wife, Nancy, and Byron Sebastian Lowe, her eleven grandchildren Lavinia, Alex, Sequicia, Nichole, Byron, Dejanna, Anthony, Kassandra, Erika, Alyssa, Kara and her ten great-grandchildren Kevin Andre, Olivia, Aiden, Christopher, Zion, Karmyn, Danilo, Blake, Aubrey, and Luna; as well as a host of devoted family, friends and community members. Charlotte Elizabeth Lowe (Nana/Ma Lowe) will always be revered as our loving Grand Matriarch.
Visitation will be from 10 – 11AM on July 21st, 2022 at Mass Ave Baptist Church,146 Hampshire Street, Cambridge, Ma. followed immediately with funeral services at at 11 AM.
Services will conclude with her burial at Mount Auburn Cemetery, Cambridge.
