SMITH, Eleanor A. (Belcastro), of Somerville, formerly of New Port Richey, FL and Weymouth, passed peacefully in her home surrounded by her family on July 25, 2022. Beloved mother of Richard F. Underwood of Somerville, Judith Underwood of Reading, David Underwood of Somerville, and the late Brian Underwood. Devoted Grandmother of Nicole DerAnanian of Reading and Janine Hunt and her husband Brian of Wilmington. Wife of the late James O. Smith of New Port Richey, FL, and Former wife of the late Richard R. Underwood. Daughter of the late Francesco Belcastro and Virginia (Adene). Dear sister of the late Mary Willette, the late Nancy Moscardelli-Burke, the late Elizabeth Saulenas, the late Nicodemo Belcastro, the late Salvatore Belcastro, the late John Belcastro, the late Grace Seaver, the late Katherine Lutz-Jenkins, the late Gloria Burke, and Frank Belcastro. She is also survived by many loving nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. Eleanor was a homemaker, supervisor of Admitting at Mt. Auburn Hospital, a social butterfly, fantastic cook, and an avid baker. She loved spending time with her family, friends, and was the neighborhood mother to so many. Moreover, she was a devout Catholic. A visitation will be held in Saint John’s Church, Cambridge on Wednesday, August 3rd, from 10am-12pm. Followed by her funeral mass at 12pm.
