Obituary for Elise Pirone (Fedele)

Elise (Fedele) Pirone, 91, passed away at home on March 7, 2023. In her final days, she was surrounded by the love and company of her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. Elise was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister and aunt and will be missed by all who knew her.

For her time, Elise was a global citizen and world explorer. After growing up in Gaeta, Italy and Casablanca, Morocco. Elise was swept off her feet by a handsome young man she met in Morocco. Not afraid of relocating, the young married couple soon moved to Marseille, France as a growing family of four. After some years in France and the birth of a third child, the couple once again relocated to the United States in search of opportunity for their young family.

Once in the US, Elise put her aptitude for learning new skills to work. With little formal education she became a valuable contributor to a number of companies, before landing a job at Polaroid where she was in charge of making instant film until her retirement. Elise was an avid gardener and, in particular, loved her roses. She also loved to cook dishes she developed from her world travels. Elise was a devoted wife to her husband, never leaving his side once he received the devastating ALS diagnosis. As a grandmother and great-grandmother, “Mémé” was always present with an endless supply of love, never let a stomach go hungry, and found the energy to play with “les enfants” even in her last few months.

Beloved wife of the late Sauveur Pirone. Devoted mother of the late Thomas Pirone. Devoted mother of Marie and her husband Sal Vaudo, Dominique and his wife Lysa Pirone. Cherished grandmother of Christine and her husband Thomas Leduc, Jacqueline and her husband Scott Brady, Madeleine Vaudo, Eliot Pirone, and Sophia Pirone. Great grandmother to Jackson, Mackenzie, and Vivienne. Beloved daughter of Alexandre Fedele and Maria (Maglioze). Beloved sister of the late Vincente Buiguez, the late Jean Fedele, Angelo Fedele, and the late Dominique Fedele. Beloved aunt of many nieces and nephews.

Family and friends are kindly invited to gather and share memories with the family at Keefe Funeral Home located at 2175 Massachusetts Avenue in Cambridge, MA on Saturday, March 11, 2023 from 9:30 to 10:30 AM, followed by a funeral Mass at St. Catherine’s Church on Summer Street, Somerville at 11 AM.
