SULLIVAN, Francis J.

A longtime resident of Medford, Frank passed away peacefully on July 18, 2019. Beloved husband of 54 years to Diane L. (Delaney) of Medford. Son of the late Francis and Agnes (Dunn) Sullivan. Loving father of David Sullivan and his husband Dave Nuscher of Belmont, Michael Sullivan and his wife Lisa of Connecticut, Karen Sullivan and her husband Vince Mukkada of Ohio, and Kristen Mackenzie and her husband Jim of Arlington. Cherished "Papa" of Perry, Connor, Riley, Shea, Olivia, Maddie, Ellie, and Molly. Dear brother of Lorraine Holmes and her late husband Edward of Wakefield, and the late Leo Sullivan and his wife Patricia of Winthrop, and loving uncle to many nieces and nephews.

Frank grew up in East Boston, and he was a 1952 graduate of Boston College High School. He received bachelor's and master's degrees in engineering from Northeastern University. After college, Frank worked for several years at Sylvania in Waltham. While there, he met his wife Diane, and the two were married in 1964. Frank worked for 37 years at the Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center, including 25 years as Vice President and then Senior Vice President of Facilities Planning and Engineering.

Frank was a dedicated member of the Medford community. He served for many years on the Medford Board of Appeals, and he was a longtime coach for Medford youth baseball and hockey. He was a parishioner at St. Raphael's Parish for over fifty years, and in retirement he helped supervise the construction of the new parish center.

Frank's funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Raphael Church, 512 High Street, Medford at 11 a.m. on Monday. Visiting hours will be held at the Keefe Funeral Home, 5 Chestnut Street, Arlington, on Sunday from 4-7 p.m. and on Monday from 10-10:30 a.m. Relatives and friends are warmly invited to attend. Services will conclude with burial at Oak Grove Cemetery, Medford. In lieu of flowers, donations in Frank’s memory may be made to Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center, 330 Brookline Avenue, Boston, MA 02215, or St. Raphael Church, Medford, MA 02155.
