Obituary for George D. Rousakis

ROUSAKIS, George D., 91, passed away peacefully in his home on April 28, 2023. He was a lifelong resident of Arlington – Graduating from Arlington High School, Class of 1948.

Predeceased by his parents James S. and Jane M. (Burns) Rousakis, and his brother John D. Rousakis.

He was a loving uncle to John J. Rousakis of Alrington, Robert D. Rousakis and his wife Judy of Woburn, and Deborah R. Tyman of Lexington.

Also a Great-Uncle to Joseph P. Tyman and his wife Stacy of Chicago, IL, Paul R. Tyman of Somerville, Riley A. Rousakis of Norwood, and John W. Rousakis of Woburn.

George spent eight years in the Air Force, attaining the rank of Staff Sergeant. He returned to Arlington and worked his entire career for the Department of Housing and Urban Development as a Contractor Industrial Relations Specialist. George was an avid reader and tennis player. He took many long walks in Arlington and was known and liked by the many people he met throughout his life. He was extremely independent, but he loved to help others, and he supported multiple charities.

Visiting Hours will be held on Saturday, May 6th, from the Keefe Funeral Home, 5 Chestnut Street, ARLINGTON from 9:00am-11am. A Prayer Service will immediately follow in the funeral home at 11am. Burial in Military Honors will conclude in Mount Pleasant Cemetery, Arlington. In lieu of flowers, donations in George's memory may be made to St. Jude Children's Research hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105, or the charity of your choice.
