MURPHY, John L., Sr., of Somerville, passed peacefully at his home on January 19, 2021, surrounded by his loving family. Beloved husband of 50 years to Jewel Ann ‘Judy’ (Emerson). Loving father of Richard Miller and his wife Lisa of NH, Ethel Sebastian and her husband Ron of NH, John Murphy, Jr. of Somerville, and the late Pamela Miller. Proud grandfather of Heidi, Brandon, Devyn, Amber, TJ, Tanya, Melissa, Jason, Richie, Stacey, Kelly, Kenny, and Chloe. Great grandfather of Kimberly, Samantha, Alexia, Madison, Allie, JJ, Jaxon, Aubrie, Christopher, Kevin, Marie, Destiny, Chelsee, Candace, Ashley, Timothy, Kloe, Ariana, Marcus, Madison, Marissa, Annastacia, Ariadne, and Kenny. Also survived by four great-great grandchildren and many loving nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. A Special 'Thank You' to John Rixon and Mary Kelley of Stow, MA for the care and support they showed John. Late Korean Conflict Army Veteran. Visiting Hours will be held in St. John’s Church, 2254 Mass Ave, NORTH CAMBRIDGE on Friday, January 22nd, 2021 from 11:30AM – 1PM. His Funeral Mass will immediately follow in St. John’s Church at 1PM. All attendees are required to wear face coverings and practice social distancing. Please enter through the main doors on Mass Ave. The Burial will be Private for the Family. It has been requested that in lieu of flowers memorial contributions be made in John’s memory to the Charity of your choice.
