SHANNON, Joseph P., of Arlington, formerly of Lexington and Cambridge, passed peacefully on September 11, 2023. Born in Cambridge to the late James Shannon and Mary (Fahey). Loving brother of Mary Shannon of Arlington, James Shannon of FL, Edward Shannon and his wife Ann of Orleans, and the late Frederick Shannon, John Shannon, and Catherine Love. Devoted uncle of many loving nieces and nephews. Retired letter Carrier for the US Postal Service. He was a proud veteran of the US Navy, serving on the USS Nantahala. A Visitation will he be held from the Keefe Funeral Home, 5 Chestnut Street, ARLINGTON on Wednesday, September 13th from 11am-12pm. A Burial and Military Honors will conclude at 12:30pm in Westview Cemetery in Lexington. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to a charity of your choice.
