Obituary for Leslie E. Mili (Rinaldo)

MILI, LESLIE EVELYN (RINALDO), Of Cambridge, May 25, 2021. It is with a heavy heart that the family of Leslie Eveyln Mili (Rinaldo), shares she has left this world for eternal and peaceful rest after nearly a 10 year battle with Early Onset Alzheimer’s Disease. Daughter of the late Carmelo P. Rinaldo and Evelyn (Grossi) Rinaldo. Wife to Vincent Mili Jr., the love of her life, for 38 years. Loving mother to Renaldo V. Mili and his wife Anne Rice of Georgia, and Cathrina M. Mili of Cambridge. Endearing Nonna to Emilia, cherished daughter-in-law to Olga O. Mili and the late Vincent Mili Sr. Sweet and joyful Auntie to many nieces and nephews. Sibling to Charles Rinaldo Jr. and Cheryl Frassa. Heaven gained a true angel. Her passion was her family and her teaching profession. Kindness was Leslie’s DNA, her smile came from her heart. She brought forth genuine compassion, love, and welcome everywhere she went; from the kitchen table to her classroom to any gathering. A phenomenal cook and baker who delighted her family and friends with delicious and abundant meals and sweets. Avid reader, lover of movies, and the best dancer. Graduated Summa Cum Laude, B.S. from Boston State College in 1978, where she was a member of the Kappa Delta Pi National Honor Society in Education, and received the “Miriam Kallen Honor Key Award” as the outstanding graduate in the Elementary Education Department. She earned her M.Ed from Cambridge College in 2008. Graduate of the M.E. Fitzgerald Elementary School, Cambridge, and Cambridge High & Latin School class of ’74. Distinguished career educator for 36 years as a Cambridge Public School Math teacher. Named the inaugural “Teacher of the Year” in 2007 by the senior class students at Cambridge Rindge & Latin School. Recipient of the Cambridge Public School’s “Crystal Award” in 2001, nominated by her colleagues for exemplary teaching and received the Cambridge Rindge & Latin School “Excellence in Teaching Award” in 1998. Former CCD teacher at St. John the Evangelist Church Religious Education Program. Relatives and friends are invited to a visitation on Tuesday June 1, 2021 in St. John the Evangelist Church from 4-7 pm. A funeral mass will be held on Wednesday June 2, 2021 at 10 am. Visitors are kindly asked to keep their masks on while inside. Burial will follow in Cambridge Cemetery.
