Obituary for Louise A. Walsh (Brown)
Louise (Brown) Walsh died on March 23, 2023 in Cambridge, MA where she had lived for the past 17 years. She was the daughter of Joseph and Marie (Kerwin) Brown of Boston. She was born August 2, 1938 and grew up in Roxbury, MA and was known to her family as Dinny.
Louise attended Brighton High School graduating in 1956. She studied at Boston State Teachers College graduating in 1960. She was married in 1959. She taught elementary school at the Greenhalge School in Lowell, MA for 35 years until she retired in 2006. While teaching, Louise earned her masters degree in reading. She loved teaching and was a well-regarded educator. She enjoyed gardening, walking extensively in Cambridge and was a voracious reader.
Louise will be deeply missed by her loving family: sons David Walsh, Jr (Jean), Michael Walsh (Amy) and Peter Walsh (Amie); daughter Ann Irwin (David); brother Joseph Brown Jr; sister Joanne O’Halloran; niece Suzanne O’Halloran; grandchildren Samuel (Laura), Benjamin and Maxwell Irwin, Virginia and Sarah Walsh, Bryan Walsh (Samantha) and William Pojunas; great-grandchildren Bryce, Jacoby and Sienna Walsh.
A memorial visitation will be held on Sunday April 2, 2023 from 1-3 pm at Keefe Funeral Home, 2175 Massachusetts Ave, Cambridge, MA 02140, followed by a local reception in Cambridge.
