Margaret “Peggy” Derochers Cossette passed away on August 9, 2023, surrounded by her loving family at the age of 79 years old. She was born in 1943 to Roland and Honora Derochers in Chelsea, MA, and was later raised in Cambridge, MA.
Peggy loved photography, crafting, gardening, and her German Shepard, Jacob. Mother of four, Grandmother (MéMé) of eight, and Great Grandmother of five, Peggy was happiest when spending time with her family. Teaching her grandchildren to swim in the backyard pool, throwing them birthday parties, and making crafts with them brought her immense joy.
Peggy worked as an Accountant for the Brookline Retirement System for many years. Eleven years ago, Peggy moved to Wells, Maine to enjoy her retirement with her husband of 56 years, and love of her life, Robert “Bob” Cossette, and her beloved dog Jacob.
Peggy is survived by her husband Bob, her children, Robert Cossette and wife Wendy, Cheryl Cossette, Catherine Dell’Orfano and husband Anthony, William Cossette and wife Patricia; her Sister Terry Collie and Brother Ronald Derochers; her beloved Grandchildren, Corey Cossette and wife Lauren, Mathew Cossette and wife Lina, Kaylie Cossette and wife Dawn, Taylor Cossette, Kelsey Cossette, Gianna Dell’Orfano, Michael Dell’Orfano and Ryan Cossette; her Great Grandchildren, Elena and Emmie Cossette, Isla and Troy Cossette, and Mackenzie Hussy. Also survived by her many honorary children, nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends. Predeceased by her parents Roland and Honora Derochers, and her brother Arthur Derochers.
