Obituary for Marie Samuelle Yvianie Boursiquot

Marie Samuelle Yvianie Boursiquot was born on October 20, 1923 in Lavallé de Jacmel, Haiti, to Uzanne Lamothe and Hiram Boursiquot. She was the oldest of their seven children: Nativa Ridoré (deceased,) Marianne Boursiquot (deceased,) Yvonne Jean-Marie, Sylvia Lamothe, Father Jean Baptiste Simon Boursiquot, and Camy Jean-Mary.
After having finished her primary classes, Yvianie busily went to work assisting her parents in the care of their property, as well as her younger siblings.
She assisted in the births of many of her nieces and nephews, and was a steadfast and loving presence in each of their lives.
Yvianie came to the U. S in 1982 after the death of Uzanne in 1980, and Hiram in 1981. And, just as she did in Haiti, she continued to assist her family members by cooking with love, cleaning with dedication, and rearing their children with devotion.
She leaves behind her surviving siblings, and, in particular, Father Boursiquot, her best friend. And, her sister Camy, with whom she lived for 40 years.
She is mourned by her godchildren: Jean Baptiste Boursiquot (deceased), Nicholas Turnier, Victor Dade (deceased,) Gabriel Ridoré, and Martine Lamothe, as well as 3 generations of nieces and nephews (too numerous to name!) from the Families of Boursiquot, Clement, Jean-Marie, Lamothe, Lauture, Payen, and Ridoré.
The family wishes to extend a special thanks to Carmel, Délourdes, Jasmine, Laïka, and Marie Nicholas for the love they extended to Yvianie in their care of her.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in Marie Samuel Yvianie Boursiquot's name to the St Jude's Hospital for Children at www.stjude.org.
