Obituary for Mary E. Hunter (McDougall)

HUNTER, Mary E. (McDougall), a lifelong resident of Cambridge, passed away peacefully at her home on October 13, 2022. Beloved wife of 66 years to Robert J. Hunter. Loving mother of Nancy Coleman and her husband Robert of Medford, Patricia DePrimio and her husband Joseph of Malden, Mary Kissane of Cambridge, Susan Cyr of Medford, Linda Foley of CA, and the late Robert J. Hunter, Jr. Dear sister of Jean Ryan of Belmont, Paul McDougall of Charlestown, and the late John McDougall. She will be greatly missed by all of her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She is also survived by many loving nieces, nephews, relatives and dear friends. Mary proudly worked as Crossing Guard for the City of Cambridge. For over thirty years she stood on the corner of Cedar and Rindge Ave, rain or shine, and always with a smile. Visiting Hours will be held from the Keefe Funeral Home, 2175 Mass Ave, NORTH CAMBRIDGE on Monday, October 17th from 4-7PM. Her Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Tuesday, October 18th in St. John’s Church, 2254 Mass Ave, North Cambridge at 11am. Burial to follow in Cambridge Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations in Mary’s name may be made to Alzheimer’s Association, 309 Waverley Oaks Rd, Waltham, MA 02452.
