Obituary for Nancy Fay Griffin (Atkinson)

Nancy Fay (Atkinson) Griffin, 75, passed away peacefully on January 13, 2020 in Palm Harbor, FL after a long illness. Nancy was raised in Arlington, MA and she was the daughter of the late Edward F. and Marion E. (Gallagher) Atkinson. She was a lifelong Catholic and she was a devout woman of faith.

She graduated from Arlington High School and spent a number of years working as an Analyst for New England Telephone/NYNEX. She married her high school sweetheart, John T. Griffin, in 1964 and they spent the next 55 years caring for each other. They lived briefly in Peabody, MA before moving to Concord, MA in 1973 to finish raising their family.

When her children were older, Nancy used her pioneering love for technology and founded a successful video production company. Throughout her life she loved all kinds of electronic gadgets, music, reading, painting and gardening. She hosted countless joyful family gatherings and her home was filled with love and laughter.

In 1995, they escaped the New England cold and they retired to Palm Harbor, FL, where Nancy lived the rest of her life.

Nancy is survived by her loving husband and four of her children, John T. Griffin Jr., Gary C. Griffin, Brian C. Griffin and Patricia A.M. Griffin. She was predeceased by her beloved son, Christopher E. Griffin, in 1972. She is also survived by four granddaughters who brought her enormous pride and joy.
