Obituary for Ramon W. McCree

World War II and Korean War Vet, long time Cambridge Resident, Father to 5, Grandfather to 14 and Great Grandfather to 8, Ramon W. McCree, 94, made his transition on Saturday December 24, 2022 at his Cambridge home surrounded by his children.

Ramon was a longtime resident of Cambridge, MA who graduated from Cambridge Latin School in 1945, Tufts University in 1974 and the MIT Sloan School in 1976. Ramon always had a strong work ethic and worked hard to support his family and reach his goals, most times having two jobs while continuing to pursue his undergraduate degree and raising his family. He worked at the Defense Contract Supply Agency (DCSA) as a Quality Assurance Specialist, then as an independent contractor on multiple national defense projects. He retired from DCSA in 1983 and as a consultant in 1993.

Ramon was predeceased by his wife Corrine McCree, sister Hazel McCree, CA, sister Marion McCree, MA, Sister Dorothy McCree, MA, Ramon is survived by his brother Paul McCree, Ma. Ramon was the devoted husband for 57 years of Corrine C. McCree, loving father of Kevin P. McCree(deceased), Karen A. McCree, Robin T. McCree, Peter R. McCree (Lydia), and Jocelyn C. McCree; adoring grandfather of 14 grandchildren, 8 great-grandchildren, and caring uncle of a host of nieces and nephews.

A celebration of his life will be held at Keefe Funeral Home, 2175 Massachusetts Ave., Cambridge, Friday, December 30th from 11 AM to 1:00 PM followed by a service at 1:00 PM. Services will conclude with his burial in Mt. Auburn Cemetery, Cambridge.
