Pike, Rayner, 90, on December 26th, gently and easily, at home with family and guarded by Amelia the cat. Graduate of public schools in The Bronx, CCNY, and graduate degree in Journalism from Columbia University in 1957. Associated Press reporter for 44 years. Journalism teacher at Rutgers, mentor to many. Leaves wife of 59 years, Nancy; daughters Nina, Leah and husband Brian, Sarah and Rebecca; grandchildren Julian, Heidi and Louisa. Also survived by sister Francine Pollner; nieces and nephews, grand nieces and nephews; and close cousins Nancy and Stuart Agler, among others. Special thanks to everyone at Care Dimensions Hospice for care above and beyond but never less than he deserved.
