Richard (Rick) Brendemuehl, age 60, of Arlington, MA, passed away peacefully at his home surrounded by family and loved ones on Friday, September 30th, after a long illness.
He leaves behind his wife, Pat (Sloan) Brendemuehl, two stepdaughters, Kristin and Casey Sloan, his parents, Dale and Ruth (Mardigian) Brendemuehl of Arlington, brother Steven and sister-in-law Lynn (Coffin) Brendemuehl of Natick, sister Debra Brendemuehl and her partner Brian Nolan of West Roxbury, sister Karen (Brendemuehl) Maguire of Ayer, long time friend Nick Moraites of Medford, four nieces and nephews, two step grandchildren, and many loving aunts, uncles, and cousins.
Rick was a graduate of Arlington High School, class of 1980, and a Local 22 Union Member. He enjoyed being with his family, cooking, spending time in the mountains, rivers, and lakes of Conway, NH, and listening to music. He loved to fish, camp, hike, and ride his bike. Rick was also an avid Patriots and Bruins fan for many years; going to Patriots games with family and friends was one of his favorite things to do. He was extremely loyal to his family, never missing a birthday, holiday or a chance to say: “I love you”.
A celebration of life will be held at the Arlington Lodge of Elks (56 Pond Lane, Arlington, MA) on Sunday, October 16th at 1:00, concurrent with his favorite past-time, a Patriots football game. Please join his family as they honor his life. Visit with family and friends from 1:00 - 2:00. Service of Reflection will begin at 2:00, followed by a late luncheon.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made in his memory to either the Sanborn Foundation, the Joe Andruzzi Foundation, or plant trees in his memory with the Arbor Day Foundation.
