Obituary for Robert E. Daley Jr.
Robert Edward Daley Jr. passed away Monday, August 14th 2023 surrounded by his entire family.
“Bobby”, as most know him, battled cancer since his diagnosis in January 2023, and fought valiantly until the very end. Bobby grew up in Arlington, MA with his mother Beverly (Occhialini) Daley, father Robert Daley and sister Kathy (Daley) Collins. He was a proud graduate of Matignon High School, and graduated in the class of 1984. Growing up in Arlington, he found his core group of friends, who he loved spending time with at Patriots games, Flynnie Weekends and many more occasions. His friends were so important to him, and he knew they would always be with him through each season of his life.
The greatest joy of Bobby’s life was being a father to his two children, Robert Daley III and Michele Daley. He loved spending quality time with them, whether it was on the golf course with Rob, or booking tickets to see Shania Twain with Shelly. He loved living in the moment, and creating memories with his kids. Bobby was a devoted worker his whole life. When he wasn’t in the office, you could find him on the golf course with a beer in his hand and a smile on his face.
He is survived by his son Robert Daley and his wife Kelly Daley, his daughter Michele Daley and her fiance Alec Webster, his mother Beverly Daley, and his sister Kathy Collins and her husband John Collins. His family plans to honor him each year, taking a trip to his favorite place in the world, Aruba. In lieu of flowers, the Daley family would like you to buy a loved one dinner, in honor of Bobby.
A service will be held at St. Agnes Church in Arlington at 10am on August 26th for friends and family to attend. There will also be a Celebration of Life following the service, information for the celebration will be given at the church.
