ENGLISH, Shirley A. (Sharland), of Malden, passed peacefully on January 23, 2020 surrounded by her loving family. Beloved wife of the late James J. English, Jr. Loving mother of Shirley English Whitman and her husband Kent of Keene, NH, Susan English MacDonald and Anthony Heim of Nashua, NH, James J. English, III and his wife Emily of Waltham, Denise English Moffitt of Malden, Traci Westgate and her husband John of Everett, and Paula English and Peter McCarty of Danvers. Dear sister of Paul Sharland of Weymouth, and the late Henry, James, and Ronald Sharland, Ruth Cellucci, Elaine Shaw and Frances Olson. She is the proud ‘Nanny’ to many loving grandchildren and great grandchildren. Also survived by many loving nieces and nephews. Shirley loved country music, she was an avid Bingo player, reader, and she loved spending time with her family and taking trips up north and coast to coast. Retired secretary from the City of Cambridge Retirement Office. Visiting Hours will be held from the Keefe Funeral Home, 5 Chestnut St., Rt. 60 (adjacent to St. Agnes Church) ARLINGTON on Monday from 11am-1pm. A Prayer Service will immediately follow at 1pm in the funeral home. Services will conclude with a burial in Cambridge Cemetery. Relatives and friends invited.
