Obituary

Obituary for Teresa Florence "Dorgie" LaRocca (Teresavich)

Teresa Florence “Dorgie” LaRocca

Age 93

Passed away peacefully in her home in Yarmouth Port surrounded by her loving family. Teresa, “Dorgie”, was born in Hazelton, PA on September 26, 1926. Her mother relocated her family to Cambridge Port where Teresa met and later married, the love of her life, Peter LaRocca. She attended St. Mary of the Annunciation School in Cambridge, MA. In 1948, she was named “Miss Lever Brothers” and also worked at the MIT Faculty Club. Teresa and Peter raised their family on Harvard Street in Cambridge and lovingly devoted themselves to their four children. She always said she was a “city girl” but lived out her golden years on Cape Cod with her family. Teresa’s kindness, love and compassion touched many lives. She taught us that love is limitless. Her gentle soul, strength, amazing storytelling capabilities, words of wisdom and wonderful sense of humor will live forever in our hearts. Words could not express how much she will be missed.

Teresa leaves behind four children, Suzanne LaRocca of Stoneham, Peter P. LaRocca, Jr., Jeffrey LaRocca, Annette LaRocca and Son-In-Law Brian Snow, all of Yarmouth Port, MA. Five grandchildren, Julie Farren, Justin Ames, Anthony Shaheen, Jessica Bush & Marcus LaRocca and 4 great-grandchildren Amanda, Bobby, Juliana and Justin, Jr.

A celebration of Teresa’s life will take place at a date to be determined where friends and family can gather together again & reminisce and celebrate Teresa’s wonderful life.

A private burial will take place on Tuesday, April 21, 2020 at The Cambridge Cemetery.

My great grandmother I love you.I will never forget all those times I went and visited you and walking up those stairs seeing the cutest person...Ma. You melted my heart every time you gave me your big hug. I loved when I would sit next to you on the couch and listen to you tell stories about your childhood and how I reminded you of yourself. I could sit upstairs with you for hours and listen to you tell me stories. You were a role model to me and not just to me but to my mom and your daughter and many more people. I will miss all the happy moments with you and your amazing, funny cute stories. But you are in heaven with Pa the person you love and talked about all the time. And now you are not hurting anymore. You will be missed in my life and many other people's lives. I love you Ma...fly high. Juliana

I am so sorry for the loss of your mom. Dorgie was always so nice to me and always had a smile on her face. She was a pleasure to be around. I know she will be deeply missed.
If it works out and my dad sings the “Ava Maria” it will be an honor for me and my family.
LaRocca Strong
My love to you all. Lorna
