Obituary for Terrence J. "Terry" Keane

Terrence J. “Terry” Keane of Stoneham, formerly of Woburn and Arlington, passed peacefully on January 12, 2023, after a hard-fought battle with cancer.

Terry was born on July 9, 1962, to the late Francis “Bud” Keane and the late Anne T. Keane (Sheridan) of Arlington. Brother of Mary Anne Keane of Arlington, Francis D. Keane of Brooklin, ME, Robert H. Keane of Wilmington, NC, Patrick D. Keane and wife Karen (Ganley) of Wilmington, and Annie Keane and her husband Philip Joseph of Gloucester. Adored Uncle “Bozo” of Dennis Keane and his wife Lauren, Maura Keane, Megan Keane and her fiancé Matt, Sean Keane and his partner Allie, Daniel Keane, and Dillon Keane and his partner Jamie.

Terry attended St. Agnes School, where he was a member of the St. Agnes CYO band, and he graduated from Don Bosco High School in 1980.

Terry was an avid baseball and Red Sox fan, traveling frequently to Spring Training and attending many major and minor league ball games. It didn’t matter what team was playing, Terry loved being at the ballpark. Music was also a very prominent part of Terry’s life. He loved playing the guitar and traveling to Nashville for live music. Mostly, Terry enjoyed spending time with his nieces and suffering through time with his dopey nephews. The king of wit, Terry’s nieces and nephews often fell victim to his quick comebacks and one-liners. The only thing that outshined his good humor was his genuine care for others.

A beloved son, brother, and uncle, Terry will be forever remembered and dearly missed.

Visiting hours will be held at the Keefe Funeral Home in Arlington from 4-7 pm on Thursday, January 19, 2023. Prayers will be led by Terry’s uncle, Fr. Joseph Robinson, at 6:30 pm. Terry’s family invites you to join them at Harrington’s in Wakefield to celebrate Terry’s life following the visiting hours.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Terry’s honor to the Dana Farber Cancer Institute.
