Obituary for Triantafylia Liakos (Bombos)

On Sunday, April 18th 2021, Triantafylia (Phyllis) Bombos Liakos peacefully passed away. Devoted wife of the late Eustratious Liakos for 54 years, beloved sister of Despina Angelopolous and Dimitria Sakorafos, loving mother of George Liakos & wife Lana Liakos of Arlington MA, Penny Flaherty (Liakos) & husband Stephen Flaherty of Burlington MA, proud yiayia of Kristyna, Amanda, Meghan, Emily, Steven, and Elizabeth.

Phyllis was born in Peraia, Greece. While living there, she attended school and obtained a degree in bookkeeping. Phyllis was a hard worker and had a passion for mathematics. She moved to Montreal, Canada where she met her husband, Eustratious, and continued her love for mathematics by joining her husband in the restaurant business where she took care of the accounting tasks. They eventually moved to Arlington, Massachusetts to open multiple, successful restaurants together. Phyllis loved working as the cashier and impressing everyone with her fast mathematical skills. After many years of commitment and dedication, she retired with her late husband to help raise their grandchildren. There was nothing Phyllis loved more than watching her grandchildren through every milestone and accomplishment. She was their biggest supporter. She is especially remembered by her grandchildren taking them shopping, getting ice cream, and truly wanting to spend every moment with them. Phyllis was truly the most gentle, kind hearted, loving, humble, understanding person. She would always lend a helping hand to anyone, whether it be friends, family or strangers. Phyllis deeply cared for everyone around her. She was constantly smiling and would light up any room. Phyllis was loved immensely by family and friends and will be missed greatly.
