Sister Therese Marquis SUSC (Sr. Marie Paula) died November 13, 2018 at the age of 93 at Mary Immaculate Nursing/Restorative Center. The daughter of the late Albert and Emma (Lepicier) Marquis, Sr. Therese was born in Cambridge, MA. In addition to her Holy Union Sisters, several nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews survive her. She was predeceased by her sisters, Marie Marquis, Juliette (Marquis) Belanger,
Sr. Paula Marquis, SUSC, and her brothers Leo, Lawrence, George and Joseph.

A graduate of Notre Dame High School, Cambridge, Sr. Therese entered the Holy Union Sisters September 8, 1944. She attended Sacred Heart School of Education Fall River, Catholic Teachers College, Providence, RI and Rivier College, Nashua, New Hampshire.
She taught in parish schools staffed by the Holy Union Sisters in Massachusetts and Rhode Island.

Sr. Therese left the Holy Union Sisters in 1972. She requested permission from the General Council in Rome to return to the congregation in 2011. At a Eucharistic Liturgy in the Holy Family Chapel of St. William Church, Tewksbury, MA she renewed her vows as a Holy Union Sister. She then joined the Holy Union Community at Mary Immaculate Residence in Lawrence. In 2016 ill health necessitated her move to the Nursing/ Restorative Center at Mary Immaculate where she remained until her death.

All funeral arrangements will be on November 19 at St. John the Evangelist Church, 2254 Massachusetts Ave, Cambridge, MA 02140. The Wake Service is at 9:30 and Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 a.m. Burial will follow at North Cambridge Catholic Cemetery, 244 Rindge Avenue, North Cambridge 02140. Funeral arrangements are by Keefe Funeral Home, Cambridge, MA.
