The Bathing Ritual

Keefe Funeral Home in Cambridge is pleased to offer this ephemeral new service for families who wish for an intimate, engaging, ritualized send-off.

The body is gently and minimally prepared by our bodycare experts and lovingly placed in a biodegradable casket. Loved ones are invited in for a ceremony or ritual that can be as choreographed or free as you wish. 

Loved ones use the time can be used to light candles, play meaningful music, sing, pray, or quietly reflect.

You may wish to place flowers or adorn your beloved with meaningful blankets or mementos.

Loved ones are invited to mix essential oils with therapeutic properties to anoint the deceased.

You may choose to bathe or dress your loved one.

We can serve as your stewards to support you in your efforts to care for your loved ones in whatever capacity you wish.
