Bereavement Support Groups

Bereavement Support Groups

Bereavement Support Groups provide a very good way for people to work through the grieving process. They provide people the opportunity, in a safe and supportive environment, to share their feeling and stories with others that are going, or have gone, through the loss of a loved one. Some groups are very general and deal with a wide range of loss. Other groups are more targeted to a specific group (i.e. the loss of a child). There are several organizations which offer these groups; from hospitals and hospices to visiting nurse associations. Listed below are some in our area. Please click on the organization below for more information.

Grief Support

A Message from our Grief Coordinator, Christy Kiernan.

We have been thinking of all of you at this difficult time! Maura and I were hoping to start the group again in April.
Hopefully, things will be back to normal sooner than later.
I wanted to share this resource and let you know that you are on our minds and in our prayers. I understand how uneasy and lonely this time is for everyone.
I have not seen these actual groups, but I have read articles from this man and I have found them good!

Please take care of yourselves and let me know if there is anything I can do to help you.
One day at a time! ❤
Christy Kiernan

Dear Friends,
What a challenging week it has been. Many people have written to me and told me how they are unable to go to their current in-person grief
group. If you could use some help in your grief now, and the current pandemics adding to the stress I would love to help.
Starting Monday at 1 PM PT, I’m starting an online free grief group
for anyone who needs support. Whether you’re newly bereaved or have been struggling for a long time this group is here to help you.
To find the group, go to

www.Facebook.com/groups/DavidKessler

or you can look up in your group section Grief: releasing pain, remembering the love and finding meaning. Many of you are professionals who have clients who are needing a lot of support right now, I hope you will share this information with them. Much love to you all during these difficult times. David

Bereavement/Grief

Losing someone you love is very painful. After a significant loss, you may experience many difficult and surprising emotions, such as shock, anger, and guilt. Sometimes it may feel like the sadness will never cease. While these feelings can be frightening and overwhelming, they are normal reactions to loss.

There is no right or wrong way to grieve — but there are healthy ways to cope with the pain. The Hallmark Health VNA and Hospice Support Groups provide participants with an opportunity to share experiences and receive needed understanding, acceptance and support.

Bereavement/Grief Support Groups are held for both children and adults. For information, please contact Judy Seifert, Bereavement coordinator, at (781) 338-7861 or jseifert@hallmarkhealth.org.
