Caroline G. (Nieman) Dawson of West Somerville died on August 13, 2004 after a brief ilness, she was 83. She was retired from the City of Boston where she worked in the assessing department. Caroline was also a volunteer secretary at Immaculate Conception Church in Cambridge. She was born on January 24, 1921 to the late Jacob and Ida (Schait) Nieman. She is the beloved wife of the late Frank Dawson. She is survived by 2 daughters Diane Clifford of Somerville and Cathleen McDonnell of Sagamore Beach, 1 son Kenneth Dawson of Birmingham, AL, 1 sister Dorothy Holdgraf of McLean, VA, 5 grandchildren, Brian Hollis, Sandra Clifford, Ryan McDonnell, Jonathan McDonnell, Amanda McDonnell and 2 great grandchildren, Christopher Hollis and Madeline Fleming. Funeral from the Keefe Funeral Home, 5 Chestnut Street (Rte. 60, adjacent to St. Agnes Church) ARLINGTON on Wednesday at 9 am. Funeral Mass in the Immaculate Conception Church, 45 Alewife Brook Parkway, Cambridge at 10 am. Relatives and friends invited. Visiting hours in the Fuenral Home on Tuesday 4-8 pm. Burial in Cedar Grove Cemetery, Dorchester. Donations in memory of Caroline may be made to Cranberry Hospice, 36 Cordage Park Circle, Suite 326, Plymouth, MA, 02360.
