The Memorial Candle Program has been designed to help offset the costs associated with the hosting this Tribute Website in perpetuity. Through the lighting of a memorial candle, your thoughtful gesture will be recorded in the Book of Memories and the proceeds will go directly towards helping ensure that the family and friends of Phyllis M. Barry can continue to memorialize, re-visit, interact with each other and enhance this tribute for future generations.

Thank you.

Condolences

Condolence From: J Johnson
Condolence: To the family of Phyllis M. Barry – I am sorry to hear of your loss. Even after a relatively long life, we naturally have the desire to continue to enjoy life because God put eternity in our hearts (Ecclesiastes 3:11). It was never God’s intention for us to suffer or die. In the beginning, all of his creation was without defect and it could said that everything was "very good" (Genesis 1:31). Death was introduced through Adam's disobedience (Romans 5:12). There will soon come a time when no one will be sick (Isaiah 33:24), Also the Bible promises a resurrection of dear family members and friends that we have lost (John 5:28, 29). I hope you are comforted by Bible promises of a hopeful future (John 17:3).

Condolence From: Andrea Tobey Jeffrey
Condolence: Dear Ellen, Mark, Ann, and Trish,

I am so sorry to hear the sad news about your mother. Among my fondest memories of growing up on Fox Meadow Lane is the kindness both your parents showed all of us kids. After we moved in 1965 our mothers and a few others from the neighborhood got together regularly at each others' home as the "Sew and Sews". As a result we saw your mother fairly regularly and grew to appreciate her even more as a wise, generous, and fun-loving woman. I hope that memories of her wisdom and the happiness she brought to all she knew will ease this tough time.

Fondly,
Andrea Tobey Jeffrey

(My Dad, sisters and I were all in Wisconsin this weekend for a family event. Otherwise, we would have been there last night.)

Condolence From: Maureen Sullivan
Condolence: My condolences to Mark, Ellen, Ann & Trish as well as the grandchildren. How lucky we all were to have Mrs. B in our lives. I always loved going next door to see your mom when I came home for a visit. She always had a glass of wine for me and we would watch Lawrence Welk. I know she will be greeted with open arms from your Dad, Sully, Mr. & Mrs. Wags and more. May they have a Bloody-Mary made with V-8 ready for her. Your mom was such a gentle, sweet soul and so loved by many. I feel very fortunate to have had her as my neighbor, protector, and friend.

Condolence From: John Boyle
Condolence: Ellen, Mark, Ann, and Trish,
Very sorry to hear about the passing of your mom. As I think back on my youth, growing up in the best neighborhood on earth, Mrs. Barry was always there, for every kid on the block. Whether it was serving as a Cub Scout Den Mother or serving us hot chocolate as we skated on your back patio or giving us numerous, countless rides home from Fidelity House, she was touching the lives of a lot of kids as we were growing up. We were all lucky to have her as one of the neighborhood moms. My very best wishes to all of you in this difficult time.
