I've known Phil since I started coming around the family with my soon to be bride Donna. He was very reserved at that time - I think he didn't know what to make of me getting involved with his crazy sister-in-law. He soon warmed up and we discovered we had a lot in common. His favorite topics were and always was the two taboo subjects "Religion and Politics". We didn't agree on everything and when I disagreed he'd resort to calling me a "morfidite or a sissy".
A very prolific reader - he even kept a dictionary in the bathroom to brush up on his vocabulary. He introduced me to Vince Flynn the creator of the character "Mitch Rapp" (someone we both identified with) As soon as he finished one book he'd pass it on to me.
Even though I left the Catholic Church years ago for the Reformed faith, Our joint worldview never faltered - he believed in right and wrong, proper manners and courtesy and a God who is soverign over all his creation.
I will sorely miss my soulmate, brother- in-law "Uncle Phil".
Love always, "Uncle Peter"
