Dorothy Mannix passed away peacefully at her home in Cambridge on February 21, 2015. Dot was 87 years young and born in Boston on September 25, 1927. She was a life long resident of the Boston area having grown up in Milton, raising her family in Arlington and subsequently becoming a Cambridge resident. She is predeceased by her husband Paul S Mannix. She is survived by her sister Marion, two sons, Stephen Paul of Hubbardston Mass. and John Brian of New York City as well as her grandchildren Lindsay, Christopher, Hyatt and Johnny. Dot was known for both her humility and humor and worked full time at Mt. Auburn Hospital as an office manager in the cardiology unit until her retirement in 2012 at age 83. In lieu of flowers, anyone wishing to express their respect should make a donation in her memory to Mt. Auburn Hospital c/o the Development Office, 330 Mount Auburn St. Cambridge, MA 02138. Re: Dorothy Mannix. Services will be private but the family plans a celebration of her life in the spring when the sun is shining and flowers are blooming, her favorite time of year.
