Tribute to Cousin

Tribute to Cousin Chinwe Dike from Valentina Onyem Okaru (cousin), May 2015 Glory to Dearest Holy Father God, the Alpha and Omega, for fearfully and wonderfully creating cousin Chinwe and giving her a full, courageous and optimistic life- filled with love and service to her nuclear, extended and global community family (Psalm 139 verse 14 and Jeremiah 1 verse 4-5). We also thank you dearest Holy Trinity for blessing cousin Chinwe with remarkable accomplishments which she carried out with cheerfulness, strength, courage and humility. I also thank Holy God for His Great Glory in Christ Jesus for cousin Chinwe’s priceless contribution and service to her nuclear and global community family. During some of our conversations, I am grateful to Holy God that I told you how much of a good role model you were and how you did an awesome job in taking good care of Obi (your brother) for many years, and having a good relationship with Ona (your sister). With courage, optimism and without regard to any physical ailment, you courageously followed Holy God’s purpose and plan for you to faithfully and successfully serve the global development community through your exemplary and highly demanding work at the United Nations in various parts of the world, including New York, Gambia and Swaziland. You helped many families and children with various problems, including those with health, water and food related challenges. Dearest Chinwe: Years ago, when I graduated from Tufts University, I recall how you successfully referred me to some contacts at UNHCR for an internship. Although I did not work at the organization, I am still grateful for your kind actions. Although we lived far away from each other and did not communicate often, the times we talked were learning experiences filled with wise and intellectual communications. I am glad that we spoke several times in 2014 and will cherish those good memories and miss you. But I pray and trust that by the Grace, Mercy and Compassionate Power of the Loving Holy Trinity, you have gone to be at peace with Holy God, The Abba in Heaven and will be with your sister (Nneka), your mom (Aunty Patti), dad (Uncle Ken) and all your aunties, uncles, cousins and friends in heaven. By Holy God’s Grace through faith, you will also continue your optimism, high energy, intellectual agility and good service to the global community family in the heavenly realms and your legacy will live forever. Dearest Holy God, we Praise You for You are Slow to Anger, Abounding in Love, Grace, Compassion and Gentleness (Psalm 103 verse 8). We trust and beg that you grant cousin Chinwe eternal peace, rest and tranquility. Amen!
