Fritz, Ruth B (nee Burns) died in her home on June 29, 2015 in Arlington, MA due to complications following leukemia. She was 87.
Ruth was born on December 21, 1927 in Waterbury, CT to her parents, Joseph and Margaret Burns. She grew up in the Morris Cove area of New Haven, CT. Ruth raised her family in Trumbull, CT where she worked as a real estate broker and appraiser for over 30 years. She moved to the Boston area in 2000, where she resided with her daughter.
Ruth was a social butterfly who made friends wherever she traveled. She was athletic and continued to lead an active life up until the end. She had a contagious laugh and a dry sense of humor that kept everyone entertained and on their toes.
Ruth is survived by her daughter, Marianne Fritz of Arlington, MA; her sister Margaret Mary (Burns) Clancy of New Haven, CT; as well as an extensive extended family. She is preceded in death by her husband, Edward G. Fritz; and her brother, Joseph E. Burns, Jr.
A wake will take place July 5 from 4 to 7 p.m. at Keefe Funeral Home, Arlington, MA. A Memorial Mass will take place on July 6 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Agnes Parish, Arlington, MA. Ruth will be buried in a private ceremony on July 7, 2015 at 12 p.m. at St. Francis Cemetery, Torrington, CT. All are welcome to attend and celebrate Ruth’s life.
