Raffi, Joan M. (Dike), longtime resident of Arlington, passed away peacefully on Friday, November 20th at the age of 85. Born in Boston on November 2, 1930, Joan was the devoted daughter of the late Anne Dorothea (Catton) & Raymond Dike. Joan and her beloved husband James, who was the light of her life, have been married for 53 years. In her younger years, Joan worked for Northeast Airlines, and as a secretary for the president of Chamberlain Jr. College and for John Hancock Company, where she was named Miss John Hancock. Joan was loving and generous to everyone she met and was especially devoted to her children and husband. She had a sweet and joyful spirit, loved to dance, and was a creative cook and decorator. In addition to her beloved husband James, Joan is survived by her children, Valerie Dagley, her husband Ronald, James C. Raffi Jr, and his wife Jacqueline. Loving grandmother of Stephen, Brian and David Dagley. A funeral service will be held at the Keefe Funeral Home, 5 Chestnut St., Rt. 60 (adjacent to St. Agnes Church) ARLINGTON, Wednesday, November 25th at 12 pm. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend and may visit with her family from 11 AM – 12 PM. Services will conclude with burial at Mt. Pleasant Cemetery, Arlington. It has been requested that in lieu of flowers memorial contributions be made in Joan’s name to N.E. Hospice, 190 Old Derby St. Suite 304, Hingham, MA 02043.
