William J.  Conley Jr.
William “Bill” Conley died peacefully on October 10, 2016. The oldest of 4 boys, Bill was born in Cambridge, MA in 1921 the son of the late William J and Irene (Roche) Conley. He was predeceased by his wife Elizabeth and brothers Robert L Conley Sr. of Longmeadow, MA and Paul V. Conley of Cambridge, MA.
Bill was a long time resident of Cambridge, MA. He was an avid hunter and fisherman. He was a bus driver with the MBTA until retirement. Bill was in the United States Navy from 1942 to 1946 and served his country during World War II as a Navy pilot in the Pacific Theater.
He is survived by his brother Edward Conley and sister-in-law Margaret of Walpole. Bill was a loving uncle to Sheila and David Bissonnette of Rye, NH; Robert L Conley and wife Margaret Conley of Longmeadow, MA; Krista Conley of Arlington, VA; Paul Conboy and his wife Kelly of Ipswich, MA; Stephen and Jane Conboy of Springfield, VA; Kevin and Deborah Conboy of Westford, MA; Irene and Cleve Taylor of Andover, MA; Timothy and Sheila Conley of Walpole, MA; Siobhan Conley (Blount) of West Roxbury, MA; and Maura and Brian McKenna of Peabody, MA. He is also survived by many loving great-nieces and great-nephews.
A funeral mass will be celebrated on Wednesday, October 19th, 2016 at 10 am at St. Peter’s Church on 100 Concord Ave in Cambridge, MA . Interment will be held at Cambridge Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, please send donations to Kaplan Family Hospice House, 78 Liberty Street, Danvers, MA 01923.
