Obituary for Barbara H. Kammerer (Hilliard)

Barbara H. Kammerer, 93, died October 10, 2016, at Wilmington Health Center in Wilmington, Massachusetts.
Barbara was born to Clayton and Mildred Hilliard on December 21, 1922 in Arlington, Massachusetts. Following high school graduation, she attended Pierce Secretarial School, and became a legal secretary. She and her sister, Beverly, were both members of the Order of Eastern Star.
Barbara married John C. Kammerer, of Plainfield, New Jersey, on October 15, 1949 in Lexington, Massachusetts. As John was a geologist in the U.S. Geological Survey, they lived in several states on the east coast (Pennsylvania, Massachusetts, New York, and Virginia) while raising their two daughters. The family especially enjoyed weekend trips to New York State parks and vacations on Cape Cod.
Barbara was predeceased by her husband of 58 years, John, and her sister, Beverly. She is survived by her daughters, Jan and her husband, Steve Whitfield, of Wiscasset, Maine, and Cindy and her husband, Dennis Hosaflook, of Fredericksburg, Virginia, as well as three grandchildren, Sarah Whitfield, David Hosaflook and his wife Laura, John Hosaflook and his wife Lindsay, and four great-grandchildren, Rose, Caleb, Elana, and Corbin Hosaflook.
The family wishes to extend their sincere thanks to Barbara's caregivers at Woodbriar Health Center, where she lived for the last year and a half of her life.
A private graveside service will be held at Westview Cemetery on Saturday,
October 15, 2016.
