Ralph H.  Underwood
Ralph H. Underwood of Cambridge died at the Tippett House in Needham on Saturday, April 4, 2009, he was 82. Born in Boston to the late Ralph and Mazie (Olson) Underwood, he was raised and educated in Cambridge. Ralph is a WW II veteran having served in the US Army with the 16th Constabulary Regiment from 1945 to 1947. A lifelong resident of Cambridge, he retired 25 years ago after serving as a Cambridge Firefighter on Engine 5 in Inman Square. Beloved husband of 61 years to Jean (Rodway) Underwood, he is also survived by five sons, Ralph H. of Wilmington, Thomas J. of Harwich, Kenneth G. of NY, Joseph M. of NH, the late Donald E. Underwood, and 4 grandchildren. Visiting hours will be held at the Keefe Funeral Home, 2175 Mass Avenue, Cambridge on Wednesday, April 8th from 4:00 to 8:00 PM. His funeral service will be held in the funeral home on Thursday, April 9th at 10:00 AM. Services will conclude with burial in Newton Cemetery. Donations may be made to Boston Sparks Assoc.
