Margaret (Peggy Brogan) Ormond, 75, went to Our Lord last Wednesday at the Hospice in The Villages. She is preceded by her parents, John and Margaret Brogan of Cambridge Massachusetts, sisters Kay and Mary, and brother Jack.

Peggy was born in Cambridge and attended St. Peter's Grammar School, Cambridge as a parishioner, Cardinal Cushing HS, South Boston, then Mount Auburn Hospital School of Nursing, graduating in 1961 as a Registered Nurse, marrying Fred Ormond (the luckiest guy in the world) the same year. Then over the next fifty four years raised and loved four exceptional children: Patrick (m. Elaine) of Reading, MA, Eileen (m. Neal) of Simpsonville, SC, Christian (m. Christine), of Mooresville NC, and Paul (m. Karolyn) of Melrose MA.

Peggy practiced her nursing in several hospitals and nursing homes in Milford, Northbridge and lastly in St Patrick's Manor, Framingham MA while living in Milford, later Manchester NH, then Shrewsbury MA. Peg worked at several local shops in semi retirement, selling Cottage Donuts (her favorite) in Shrewsbury and Brueggers' Bagels in Northbridge. She and Fred retired to Cape Cod in 1998, and later to The Villages, FL in 2001, where she ardently worked to improve her golf game. She has the distinction of being the only person in her immediate family to have scored a hole in one.

Peggy volunteered at Operation Homebound distributing meals to the disabled in The Villages and enjoyed the opportunity to practice her caring and loving attention to others, always with a smile and a cheerful disposition. She maintained her positive attitude throughout her seven month ordeal with lung cancer, aided by the caring, professional staff at The Florida Cancer Specialists in The Villages.

Peggy is survived by Fred, her sister, Julia B. Geiger of Thousand Oaks CA, her four exceptional children and her eight gifted grandchildren, Melissa, Sean Paul, Sean Patrick, Ryan, Caitlin, Emily, and twins Matthew and Colin.

She was a member of St.Timothy's Parish in The Villages.
